Christmas is over. Valentines is now past and we are marching toward St. Patrick’s Day. Then we move to Easter, Memorial Day, etc….
Our family loves to celebrate holidays. We have a smaller tree that we leave up all year long. For Valentines, we put red lights on it plus all these Valentiney things. It was beautiful. Yesterday, we put all of Valentines up and pulled out all our green for St. Patrick’s Day. Our tree now has green lights, a St. Partick’s Day set of Mickey Mouse ligts plus shamrocks and all the things tht make up this Irish holiday.
When you come into our house, you know what holiday we are celebrating. It is obvious. So, here’s the question. When poeople come into your home, do they know that you celebrate being a Christian? Is there any scripture on the walls, a Bible in a prominent position in your den, religious pictures or paintings, anything? My wife, just bought a corrugated sign that is in the shape of a cross. You put it in the yard, cross side out and on Easter Sunday, you flip it around and the cross now has an empty tomb on it with the words, “He is Risen” emblasoned upon the front.
We have always heard it said, that if there were a trial, is there enough evidence to convict you of being a Christian? I encourage you and your family to make an effort to celebrate, not only our holidays, but the Jesus who died for our sins and rose again.
